HP Sponsoring Computer Architecture Projects

The Computer Architecture reseach group is pleased to announce the donation of Itanium Server from HP to support our education and research activities in the field of high performance processor architectures and interconnection networks.
The following research activities are planned:

• Evaluation of our innovative ATOLL interconnection network on the HP Itanium2 platform

• Analysis of the new architectural features of the Itanium2 processor for communication support

• Optimization of the PALMS communication library

• Performance evaluation of Itanium2

We thank HP for the generous support of our research projects. That gives us the possibility to increase our educational standards for computer architecture and parallel programming.

HP sponsored a HP Server Itanium2 rx2600, 2x 1,5 GHz CPU and 4 GB DDR, including a PCI-X-system.
