Benchmarking GPU Devices with N-Body Simulations

Given the increase in efficiency of numerical problems by more modern methods, there is currently an active interest in parallel processing techniques. Not only are the algorithms the only aspects that provide a significant advantage, but also hardware components that improve the computation time. For example, such improvements can be found in the field of natural sciences simulation. This work discusses the relevant literature and presents a simulation of an N-body system. It analyses the advantages and disadvantages of using various computational components and shows a difference in their processing time. The most efficient combination is determined during an analysis by comparing the experimental results. Finally, recommendations will be made for further studies in the future.
