A hardware-oriented simulator for high performance interconnection network architectures

Abstract:

In this diploma thesis, a new simulator for a next-generation low-latency network architecture, namely the EXTOLL network architecture, is developed. The result is a simulator that is based around very simple principles and provides the possibility to experiment with different properties of the EXTOLL network architecture. This work provides an overview of the current hardware implementation of EXTOLL, certain parts of the architecture. Furthermore this work is proposing ways to improve the EXTOLL architecture that are based on the analysis of the architecture and simulations.
